We cordially invite you to visit Mast Young Plants and experience our beautiful display and research gardens. Here you will find a living catalog of all the varieties we produce. As one of the industry's leading young plant providers, we take pride in our research of the newest and best genetics. Over 25 breeder companies are represented on our grounds, comprising nearly 100 genera and over 1000 varieties within an area measuring about 2500 ft². It's a small space packed with a huge colorful punch!

MYP has raised sun and shade beds, as well as over 400 combination planters, deco pots, and hanging baskets. With a vast array of ornamentals, edibles, herbs, vines, perennials, and grasses, we make extra sure that all of our plants are clearly labeled for your ease of photography and note-taking. Come and be inspired by our spectacular living catalog. We look forward to having you!

Highlights

  • All-America Selections has changed their categories for this year!  What used to be the vegetables category will now be called edibles, as it often includes herbs and fruit.  This year the edibles category includes 24 entries and 48 comparison varieties.  The former bedding plant and flower categories have been merged together into the ornamental category, and this year the AAS garden will feature 12 entries and 19 comparisons.  The vegetative category will feature 3 entries and 6 comparisons, all grown in large containers.

  • For the past two years we have conducted an in-ground vegetative comparison trial.  This year we continue the tradition with 2 different genera: Coleus and Impatiens!  We will feature around 200 varieties for you to enjoy and photograph.  The trial will be blind for voting purposes, but a key to the varieties and a report featuring the top-performing and most-voted-on will be available at the end of the season. In addition, we will use your ballots for raffles when we draw a name for a special gift - just for participating.

  • Knowledgeable staff on hand to answer questions.

  • Shaded sitting / meeting space available with wireless internet. No appointment is necessary to visit the gardens, but you can always contact us for a guided garden tour.

  • Lunch is available daily from noon to 1:00pm.
